I recently installed a wireless card for my pc to connect to my router, but the pc is not detecting the PCI card. Is there anything else i can do because even after installing the driver disk it came with it is still not detecting it.

Try turning the computer off, taking the card out of the PCI slot and putting it another one, see if that helps.

My aunt has two PCs, one running 98SE, the other running Windows XP. They have a BT wireless router, the 1800HG, and the XP PC can connect fine. They got a wireless card, a D-Link one, so that they could try and connect the 98SE one to the router, and therefore the internet.

The D-Link came with software, and I installed the card and the software fine. The D-Link software was saying that it could connect to the router, but the internet wouldnt connect.

I know it works because I got it working, sharing documents and having the internet, but it needed a format, and now I cant get it working again. Any suggestions?

got it working...now for the problem with the wireless pci adapter card. Im trying to install the drivers for it but when i run the cd all i get is a flicket of the program starting up and no more. any ideas why that is?

Did you install the adapter then insert the CD or vice versa?

I would start with changing the channel on your wireless router to rule out the interference issues. Beyond that you could try firmware updates on the wireless router and driver updates on your laptop.

Well I just restored back to October 15th and was able to get my wireless back? Still not sure what happened, maybe some Vista update? At least im up and running for now.

Someone also reports "installing the 10 Vista updates of 08-14-07 stopped my internet". WE found some updates require to upgrade the hardware such as NIC driver.
